Biography:
“Real Music from the pages of real life”. That is how many have described the music of Singer/Songwriter Jason Edwards. There's no question that Some parts of Jason's story touch on the darker themes of a troubled life. But that alone doesn't begin to tell the complete story of Jason Edwards. Much of Jason's music is grounded in hope and faith. Some would call it the “good and bad” or “the dark vs the light” , but like many great songwriters and storytellers before him, Jason isn't afraid to use his own life and experiences to draw from in his music. Jason says “ for me music is as essential as food, water, and oxygen. Music is at the very center of who I am.”
Known by many as “The Comeback Kid”, or “CBK” which is a nickname given to him in 2008, by friends and former band mates following a near brush with death. Overcoming adversity is a common theme in his lyrics. Edwards says “in most cases my songs come straight from the pages of real life. Most of my music is based on events or circumstances I have lived through, or someone I know has gone through." It has been said that “art imitates life”, and For Jason Edwards that is a fact. He says “for me, I draw from life. From the good and from the not so good. Because with music, even the most painful stories or circumstances we go through can sound so beautiful with the right melody. That's a powerful thing.”
Born and raised in Unicoi County Tennessee, Jason fell in love with music at an early age. By the time he became old enough to drive he was already performing regularly as a professional musician. These days he is pouring more into his music than ever before. He will be releasing a new album in mid 2023, and over 150 shows planned so far in 2023. Jason's music falls into the genres of country, americana, and outlaw country, but don't let that fool you, because he also writes a lot of contemporary christian and gospel music as well. He is known for having a high energy show with lyrics that draws his listeners straight into the story of his songs.
Jason is a seasoned showman. He has opened shows for some of country music's biggest artists such as Gary Allan and Aaron Tippin, among others. Jason has been featured on Radio and television alike on programs such as “Daytime Tri-cities WJHL channel 11 Johnson City, ”The Blue Plate Special" WDVX 89 FM Knoxville and on Mountain Matinee with CanJoe*John on 96.3 FM. He has performed at the world famous "Bluebird Cafe" in Nashville. "One of Jason's songs "Part time daddy" was used by a fathers rights advocacy group in the Southwest United States in 2016-2017.
